College Recruitment Specialist - Office of Undergraduate Programs and Advising

The West Virginia University College of Business & Economics is seeking to hire a College Recruitment Specialist. The Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for the formation, implementation, and assessment of recruitment strategies to attract undergraduate students for the BS in Business Administration and BS in Economics programs. Additional responsibilities include conducting institutional research, analyzing data and identifying best practices utilized by peer and aspirant peer AACSB business schools, as well as attracting students with competitive academic profiles with a goal to increase the conversion of freshmen and first-time transfers in the admit pool. The incumbent will also assist the Program Coordinator of the Freshman Experience Program in advising freshman and sophomore General Admit Business and pre-Business and Economics majors. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) and the following experience: two years in personal selling, corporate recruitment or college recruitment

Accounting Department Chair

The College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Department Chair in the Department of Accounting. We seek candidates who have a demonstrated capacity for high-quality leadership, research, and teaching. The Chair position acts as the chief administrator for the Department to assist in the achievement of research, teaching, and service goals. Candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Accounting and a record sufficient to earn the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.  The ideal candidate also must have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and two year’s minimum experience in a leadership position.  Duties and responsibilities include managing the process for AACSB maintenance of accreditation; scheduling and staffing courses for all accounting programs; administering the department’s budget; administering the policies and procedures and specified by the Department, College, and University; facilitating curricular changes; and liaising with firms, alumni, and administration. Associate or Assistant Professor of Marketing

Faculty Visiting Position in Economics - Any Rank

The Department of Economics at West Virginia University invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time position as Visiting faculty member (any rank) that begins August 16, 2015. This may be either for one academic year (2015-2016) or two academic years (2015-2016 and 2016-2017). A successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester and to participate in activities sponsored by the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) in the College of Business and Economics. These activities include graduate student reading groups, research seminars, and CFE-sponsored lectures for undergraduates. Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics

The Economics Department at West Virginia University seeks applications for a position at the assistant or associate professor level.  We seek either a senior assistant professor with a productive research record or an associate professor with an internationally recognized record of excellence in research. Consideration will be given to the applicant’s ability to communicate the free-market perspective to a broad audience. A successful candidate will be a member of the economics department, be affiliated with a new political economy center, be expected to produce high-quality scholarship for leading economics journals, serve on dissertation committees, and teach both undergraduate and PhD courses in economics.  Depending on qualifications, a successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track position or brought in with a recommendation for tenure.
