Brian Crabtree, Senior Accounting Major

Brian Crabtree, who comes from Oakland, Maryland, is about to start his final semester as an accounting major in the College of Business and Economics. Brian chose accounting as his major because he found that the demand for accountants is high and has good salary prospects.

Brian is interested in focusing on sales tax consulting. This summer he was an intern at Ryan and Company, which is the nation’s leading company in state and local sales- and use-tax consulting. This summer Brian learned the sale- and use-tax codes for the state of Texas and traveled to the Dallas area for on-site orientation and technical training. After graduation he is planning to move to Charlotte, NC to work for Ryan and Company.

While in the College of Business and Economics he has been a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity. He has worked on the Advertising Committee and the Community Service Committee for that organization. Brian has also been a member of the College Building Improvement Committee. Brian is a student worker in the College’s Office of Undergraduate Programs and Advising during the school year. He is in the front of the office many days helping our students with questions about the College or making appointments with the advisors. Come by the office to talk with Brian. He is happy to talk about his experiences in the College and will be glad to offer his insight into the activities and programs.
