Employment Opportunities for Students with Disabilities
The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) is looking for highly motivated post-secondary students and recent college graduates with disabilities who are eager to take part in internships or short term employment opportunity within the federal workforce. A trained recruiter from the Department or Labor: Office of Disability Employment will conduct personal interviews with interested students on January 29, 2009. From these interviews, a database is created containing information about each student and recent graduates. This database of students and graduates interested in summer internships or short term jobs is provided to federal government or for federal government contractors interested in employing individuals with disabilities. Interested employers will make direct contact with students regarding job offers. Students interested in registering to take part in this program can contact Derek Fincham at: derek.fincham@mail.wvu.edu. An informational meeting regarding the program will be held on November 11, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Cacapon Room located in the Mountainlair on the downtown campus. A catered dinner will be served to those in attendance following the informational presentation. Students interested in attending this event need to RSVP by Monday November 9th.
