DETAILS ON SCHEDULING INFORMATION SESSIONS
Q. How do I set up and advertise my information session/pre-night event?
We work to provide our recruiters with the best possible service. If you are interested in setting up an information session/pre-night, please contact Cheryl Dixon, cheryl.dixon@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-6507 to promote your event. It is critical to contact us with this information so that we can promote your event to the students. We will add the information session date, time and location to your job posting and schedule within CareerConnect as well as send an email to those students whom you would like to invite. This is only done if you let us know that you would like your event to be promoted.
ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWING
Q. Will all WVU students be able to view my posting in CareerConnect?
No. Only students enrolled in the College of Business & Economics have access to CareerConnect. To set up interviews with students outside of the B&E, please contact the WVU Career Services Center at 304-293-2221 or www.wvu.edu/~careersc/.
Q. How much does it cost to register with CareerConnect and reserve an interview room?
There is no cost to use CareerConnect or to interview at our facility.
Q. How do I post a Schedule for on-campus interviews?
1. Log-in to the Employer section of CareerConnect.
2. If you do not have an account with CareerConnect, please register now by clicking on the “Click here to register with CareerConnect” link. Your account will be activated within 24 hours.
3. Login to CareerConnect.
4 From the CareerConnect home page, under quick links select" Request new On-campus Interview Schedule(s)" or select "On-Campus Recruiting" on the top navigation bar.
5. Complete the New Interview Schedule Request form. Required fields are noted with a red asterisk.
6. Your request will be “pending” until approval from B&E’s Recruiting Coordinator.
Q. How do I attach/create a position (job description)?
1. You will receive an email from our office once your schedule request has been approved. Following approval, you will be able to attach your job description.
2. Under Alerts, click “1 OCR Schedule(s) in need of a position” or under the options column header under OCR tab under the toolbar, click "Attach Position". Once on the Schedules tab, select "Copy/Create a New Position" to add your job description.
3. Complete Position Information. Required fields are noted with a red asterisk. After completing the fields, click save and finish.
4. To make any changes or additions, click "Edit Schedule Details".
Q. How do I view/select candidates for Position?
1. Under "Alerts" on your home page, you will see how many students have applied for your position. You may click on the specific underlined alert or on OCR on the top navigation bar.
2. The "Applicants" tab lists all students who have applied for your position. To view a student profile, select the underlined last name. To review documents submitted, click the appropriate icon under the document column.
3. Using the drop-down menu in the "Status" column, you may select any of the following for each student applicant: not invited, invited or alternate. The status will be set as “pending” before you make any selections.
Q. How do I view my schedule and generate interview packet(s)?
1. From your home pager, select "OCR" from the top navigation bar.
2. Under the "Schedules" tab, any interviews scheduled (by the student) will appear. You may also print out a report of the students scheduled by clicking Generate interview Packet.
3. To see each student name and interview time, click on the "Interviews" tab. You may also view the submitted documents from this page.
4. From the "Generate Book" tab, you may select a publication name and the documents to be included in your interview packet. You will receive confirmation via email when this publication is ready for download.
Q. Do you use a bidding process for students to sign up for interviews?
No.
Q. How do I add students to an on-campus interview schedule being created through CareerConnect that I meet at a Career Fair or students that cannot schedule interviews independently?
If the B&E student missed the resume submission deadline, but you want to interview the student we can add the candidate to the interview schedule for you or add them to the accepted list and the candidate can schedule independently. Please send Cheryl Dixon an email message (cheryl.dixon@mail.wvu.edu) providing the schedule ID number and the student’s name.
JOB POSTINGS WITHOUT INTERVIEW SCHEDULES
Q. How do I post a Job in CareerConnect without a schedule for on-campus interviews?
1. Log-in to the Employer section of CareerConnect.
2. If you do not have an account with CareerConnect, please register now by clicking on the “Click here to register with CareerConnect” link. Your account will be activated within 24 hours.
3. Login to CareerConnect.
4. Under quick links select "Create Non-OCR Job Posting" or select "Jobs" from the top menu.
5. Complete the Posting Information with job description and selection criteria.
Q. How do I post a Job in CareerConnect to be posted on the NACELink System?
1. Log-in to the Employer section of CareerConnect.
2. If you do not have an account with CareerConnect, please register now by clicking on the “Click here to register with CareerConnect” link. Your account will be activated within 24 hours.
3. Login to CareerConnect.
4. Under quick links select "Create NACELink Job Postings".
5. Complete the Posting Information with job description and selection criteria.
LOCATION AND FACILITIES
Q. Do you have videoconferencing capabilities?
Our facility is equipped to hold videoconferences. Space is limited and we require the assistance of the B&E Information Technology specialists to work the equipment so be sure to reserve a room early by contacting Cheryl Dixon – cheryl.dixon@mail.wvu.edu or 304-293-6507.
Q. Do you have wireless internet?
Yes, our facility is wireless equipped. We can also do provide Ethernet cords so please let us know if you need one when you arrive for your interviews.
Q. Where do I park when I am interviewing on campus?
For your on-campus recruiting visit, we offer complimentary parking at the College of Business & Economics in Lot 27. For directions to The B&E and/or Lot 27, click the link below.
