The Center offers a variety of business and research activities designed to facilitate trade between the U.S. and other countries around the world. The Center helps West Virginia companies identify markets for their products and learn the essentials of exporting. One of the Center's most successful efforts is the Export Management Seminar for West Virginia company executives explore their exporting options.
College of Business and Economics faculty and U.S. corporate executives travel to China to teach the latest business management techniques and trends to high-level business and government leaders in Shanghai, Tianjin, Beijing, and Xian. More than 2,000 business and government leaders have attended these workshops since 1997.
Students, faculty, and West Virginia company executives travel to China for a series of classes, corporate and cultural visits to identify the market potential for West Virginia products. Students and faculty work in teams with company executives to determine the export readiness of the company and develop a market entry strategy for the Chinese market.
The Center has trained 150 high-level government and business leaders from Shanghai, Tianjin, and Xian since 1994. Chinese officials come to the West Virginia University campus for six months to study business practices and American culture.
Our MBA program has an international and technology-based curriculum. Alongside U.S. students, experienced international students get an MBA from an AACSB-accredited program in 13.5 months at a very reasonable price.
