Class of 2008 May Commencement

6:00 p.m
REGISTRATION: 5:00 p.m., 2nd Floor, Red Gate, Coliseum.
RECEPTION: Immediately following commencement ceremony, Shell Building.
Please report to 2nd floor of the Coliseum (concourse area) above the Red Gate entrance no later than 5:00 p.m. for registration and line up. You must be dressed in full regalia, including cap, gown and tassel, to march in the procession. Your parents and guests may be seated at 5:00 p.m. Please note that only graduates may sit on the main floor of the Coliseum.
The ceremony will include a formal procession, a speech from the keynote speaker, the distribution of diplomas, individual recognition by the Dean and a representative of the Office of the President, and a formal recession. You must report back to your seat after you have been recognized and receive your diploma.
The University will offer each graduate an individual photograph of the Dean awarding his/her diploma. Parents and guests will be able to take personal pictures with their graduates at the reception in the Shell Building following commencement. Cap and Gown: Academic regalia may be purchased at the WVU Bookstore. Custom Gown Program Pricing for Commencement 2008 is:
Baccalaureate: Cap, gown, and tassel: $42.90 plus sales tax
Master: Cap, gown, tassel, and hood: $81.50 plus sales tax
Doctorate: Cap, gown, tassel, and hood: $101.00 plus sales tax
The tam (which must be ordered) with tassel may be purchased separately for: $92.00 plus sales tax
University and College marshals and faculty and staff will be available to provide directions to you prior to the procession. Please make sure you register with a College representative on the second floor concourse area directly above the Red Gate entrance before lining up for the procession. Signs directing you to the appropriate area for lineup will be available. Students will be placed in major/alphabetical order for the procession and seating. Check with your classmates who stand before and after you to verify you are in the appropriate alphabetical order.
Students with double majors in the College are placed in their first major by alphabetical listing unless previous arrangements were made (e.g., a double major in accounting and management will be included in the accounting group of students).
