Welcome from the Dean
At WVU's College of Business and Economics, we help students, business clients, and our state move mountains.
We support them in developing leadership and strong decision-making skills to succeed and to overcome whatever obstacles they will surely encounter.
Whether they are students preparing to enter the global market place or those returning for advanced degrees, our aim is to help them overcome barriers and impediments to their goals. As business guru Peter Drucker stated, "The entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity."
Our College is a springboard to that viewpoint. We are small enough to offer highly personalized service, yet our vision and a network reaches out across the globe. We value the time-honored virtues of reasoned analysis, common sense, and hard work, while embracing the best developments in thought and technology. We firmly believe our students will be the future leaders of our state and nation.
To achieve this, we teach them to be alert to new opportunities and view obstacles as challenges to be confronted and transformed into accomplishments. If a student wants to make his or her mark, if that student has a vision and a dream, if that student wants to look out from a vantage point higher on the horizon where such visions can be fulfilled, then the WVU College of Business and Economics is here to help to move mountains.
We also support business leaders and policy-makers through our many outreach activities, including the Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the Center for Executive Education, the Entrepreneurship Center, the Center for Career Development, and our Center for Chinese Business.
Whether you want to start a business or a corporate career in a non-profit, in industry or government, in West Virginia, New York City or Beijing, it is our purpose to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and information you need to be good leaders.
