Transportation

There are many American cars from before the 1959 Revolution. Most are in terrible shape, but some are in mint condition, like this one.   Another beauty, but check out those snow (?) tires.

And another. OK, I quit, no more.   This is much more common -- run down, rusted, and belching black smoke. This is a taxi. Click on the pic for more info.

Yes, this is Havana. Not central, but still Havana. You see this out in the countryside a lot.   Sort of like a bus, but less comfortable.

Trucks belonging to state enterprises are required by law to pick up people waiting at bus stops.   El camello, the camel. A uniquely Cuban form of transportation. Don't know how many they hold, but it's a lot.

Aimed mostly at tourists, but this, I guess, is a local. I don't think I want this job.   Havana has more traditional busses, too, but most are not quite so colorful as this one.

Motor assisted.  Where there's a will...
Me with my friend Luis Rene Fernandez Tabio.
