EconLit
Subject indexing and abstracts of journals and over 500 collective volumes per year, plus books, dissertations, and working papers. Must be on campus to use. 

JSTOR
Comprehensive archive of important scholarly journal literature. Mustbe on campus to use.

Bureau of the Census
This site provides data obtained from the decennial census at both the national and regional level. Many data series offered by the Bureau of the Census are more current than the decennial Census, but the Census is their bread and butter.
Bureau of Economic Analysis
This site contains national, international, and regional income accounting data. There is not a whole lot of data available here, but many of their series can be obtained at the county and MSA level.

Center for Research in Security Prices
This site is intended mainly for those individuals interested in data on individual stocks. In fact, this data set is probably the most complete with respect to stocks traded in the United States.
Centers for Desease Control -- National Center for Health Statistics
The CDC offers all sorts of useful information for research inthe economicsof health and health care.
Congressional Budget Office
The CBO's web site contains information on federal tax liabilities and the federal budget, as well as providing budget outlooks for future fiscal years.
Current Population Survey
This site contains detailed and current data on the populationin the U.S. as well as providing projections for the future.
EconoMagic
This page is the mecca of economic data. Just about every data series you could want is available on this page. In addition to the data,you can create and view graphs of the data on this site. Over 100,000 time series. Wanna know the unemployment level of Monongalia County, WV?
Federal Budget
Incredible source of data not only on the currentbudget but also historic series.
Federal DepositInsurance Corporation
This site provides many years of data on the banking industry in the U.S. at both the national and state level. There is also an on-line periodical which discusses current trends in the banking sector, as well as regulatory information.
ICPSR Homepage
Access to the world's largest archive of computerized social science data.
IPUMS
Integrated Public Use Microdata Series -- census microdata for social and economic research.
NACJD
The NACJD website provides downloadable access to over 550 criminal justice data collections free of charge.
National Center for Education Statistics
This site contains a plethora of data on secondary and post-secondary education characteristics. Several surveys undertaken by NCES are also available here.
NBER Data
The National Bureau of Economic Research's macro data archive. Most of their macro data can be obtained through FRED (below), but they do offer very old time-series of several variables that I have yet to see elsewhere.
National Longitudinal Surveys (NLS) Home Page
Sponsored and directed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor. Detailed information about the labor market experiences and other aspects of the lives of six groups of men and women.
National Tax Association
Every conceivable government database.  Very useful.
Panel Study of Income  Dynamics
University of Michigan's data set examining individual income and characteristics over time.
Regional Economic Information System
REIS contains income, earnings, and employment data for the U.S., states, MSAs, and counties. Most of the series are available from 1969-1996.
St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank FRED Database
This site is practically a one-stop shopping site for U.S. macro data. Data are available for interest rates, various price indices, and gross domestic product, as well as many other series. A complete listing is far too long, so check this one out.
Statistical Abstract of the United States
The nation's data book. What else can be said?
Stock Prices from the New York Stock Exchange
Many stock prices are available here free of charge.
