BADM 611: Management Information Systems (3 Credit Hours)
This course examines information systems and technology in modern business. There is extensive use of cases to explore managerial issues in information systems planning, development, implementation and use. Top
BADM 612: Managerial and Team Skills (3 Credit Hours)
The course is designed to introduce, develop, and enhance managerial skills necessary to function effectively with the human element in complex organizations. This course is only one of several addressing the behavioral aspects of human interaction in the EMBA program. It is designed to introduce the student to a variety of managerial philosophies on how to manage people, develop and have a clearer understanding of one's own managerial style and ultimately, understand the dynamics of working groups and teams. Obviously, the course objective is to enhance organizational productivity through development of the manager and the workgroup. Top
BADM 613: Macroeconomics (3 Credit Hours)
This course explores the impact of the external environment on the profitability and success of the firm. Topics include the national economy and national economic performance with particular emphasis upon business cycles, unemployment, and inflation. Also topics such as Keynesian and classical theories, monetary and fiscal policy, and international trade are studied. It emphasizes the theme that the odds of business success are enhanced by a strong grasp of the global business environment, including business cycle trends, socio-economic and demographic trends, political factors, and industry-specific characteristics. BADM 621: Business Research (3 Credit Hours)
This course develops skills in data-driven, fact-based decision making; develops the ability to critically evaluate research proposals and studies which rely on business research; provides a basic understanding of reading and conducting empirical research. Survey of major statistical methods used in business and economics. Top
BADM 622: Financial Statements Analysis (3 Credit Hours)
This course encompasses: 1) understanding the processes involved in the development and preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in owners' equity and statement of cash flows, 2) investigating the underlying conceptual/theoretical foundation of financial reporting, 3) analyzing business transactions, including operating, investing and financing activities and the effects of each on the financial statements, and 4) analyzing financial statements and other financial information as a basis for decision-making, including analysis of the quality of the financial statements. BADM 623: Strategy (3 Credit Hours)
This course focuses on the following: 1) Utilize the concept of strategic management and focus on factors that influence the competitive behavior and performance of the firm. 2) Describe, analyze, explain, and apply strategy concepts and techniques to virtually any business organization 3) Think logically about actual strategic situations that confront top managers. BADM 631: Managerial Economics (3 Credit Hours)
Managerial Economics is the application of economic theory and the tools of analysis of the decision sciences to examine how an organization or decision-maker can achieve its aims or objectives efficiently. This course provides a solid foundation of economic understanding for use in managerial decision-making. Topics covered include supply, demand, markets, pricing practices, and firm strategies in contestable markets. Top
BADM 632: Corporate Finance (3 Credit Hours)
In this course we will examine the capital decisions of the firm. The foundation for corporate decisions is formed through principles developed in microeconomic theory, using the accounting principles underlying financial statements to organize relevant information. The analysis includes a practical consideration of the operation of financial markets, considerations for the inter-temporal comparisons of opportunities, and the elements of the decision-making criteria for the financial manager. This course included topics about leadership concepts and practices designed to motivate and support an organization's workforce with particular emphasis upon leadership skills, ethics, and effective communications. Top
BADM 638 Supply Chain Management (3 Credit Hours)
This course examines the supply chain: the set of activities required to fulfill a customer request. We will provide a strategic framework to analyze the design, planning, and operational decisions within supply chains. We will also learn how to estimate demand, plan production, and manage inventories. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to: Explain the impact of supply chain decisions on the firm; Describe how a company achieves a strategic fit between its supply chain strategy and its overall business strategy; Define the key metrics that track the performance of a supply chain; Forecast demand in a supply chain using time series methodologies; Formulate and solve basic aggregate planning problems; Use sales and operations planning techniques to manage supply and demand; Compute the optimal amount of inventory in a supply chain; Define the optimal service level in a supply chain; and Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different modes of transportation. BADM 641: Decision Analysis for Executives (3 Credit Hours)
This course focuses on the development and use of quantitative decision making tools and techniques. The course uses various combinations of spreadsheets and computer packages to design and solve the resulting decision models. Project management will also be addressed. Top
BADM 644: Legal Environment and Ethics (3 Credit Hours)
This course is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of the legal environment in which business operates. The intent of this course is not to create lawyers or legal experts, but rather to provide an introduction to fundamental principles of business law in such areas as contracts, torts, employment issues and intellectual property. Regardless of your career path, you will undoubtedly be exposed to business situations that have significant legal implications. As such, the goal of this course is to provide you with the tools you will need to work with lawyers and others to develop winning strategies, make well informed decisions, and react appropriately to legal situations as they arise. BADM 651 Personal Financial Planning (3 Credit Hours)
The course will go over most areas of personal financial planning including the areas of investment, insurance and taxes. Participants will have a completed financial portfolio and plan upon completion of the course. As a manager of another's business assets, you should have a firm grip on your own financial situation. Unfortunately, most individuals do not make a conscious effort on this charge. The specific purpose of this course is to offer individual students the opportunity to self-reflect and plan in specific personal financial planning areas. The planning components encompass self-assessment, personal budgeting, insurance coverage, investment planning, managing credit, retirement planning, estate planning, and graceful aging. Discussion of these topics is offered on a personal basis with the overall objective of allowing the student to get in touch with his/her individual situation at an early date which should facilitate a much more focused planning approach in future years. The suggestion is that "If you don't manage your money, your money will manage you!" Top
BADM 652: Marketing Strategy (3 Credit Hours)
This course provides you with an overview of the marketing discipline and applies/extends this understanding through the creation of a marketing plan for a client. Specific emphasis is placed on gaining an understanding of marketing strategy, consumer behavior, market segmentation and product positioning, product planning, promotion, distribution and pricing. Primary emphasis is placed on developing an understanding of central marketing concepts and applying them to "real world" problems. Top
BADM 653: Integrated Global Business (3 Credit Hours)
This course explores the various strategic planning options available to companies in order to compete in the global market place. The course places emphasis on entrepreneurship, deciding on a mission and setting objectives, developing a global strategy, growing a business, creating a business plan and shopping that plan with the goal of securing additional financing to support global expansion. BADM 661: Executive Project - Part 1 (1 Credit Hour)
Students will be given the opportunity to work through a business problem under the supervision of expert faculty. This can be an issue faced by their company, giving the student the opportunity to exhibit the skills and knowledge gained through their education and give back to their company, or the students could explore an entrepreneurial initiative. Students will come on campus to spend time with faculty who will mentor them through the process. Top

ILR 543: Negotiations (3 Credit Hours)
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Assess upcoming negotiations for win-win and position bargaining elements.
2. Match bargaining strategy with the negotiation type and the other negotiator's style.
3. Develop detailed win-win, position or mixed bargaining strategies.
4. Develop and execute a bargaining plan for individual or team negotiations.
5. Utilize a variety of tactics in planned and ad hoc negotiating.
6. Negotiate agreements in both professional and personal arenas.
7. Consider the ethical implications of bargaining tactics.
8. Appreciate international negotiation commonalities and differences.
