Dr. Andrew T. Young is an assistant professor in economics and the College’s BB&T Scholar, designated because he is one of the best published and upcoming young scholars. His papers have been published in Public Choice, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Review of Economics and Statistics, Managerial and Decision Economics, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Review of Economic Dynamics and Review of Austrian Economics.
He is the recipient of the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation Mentorship Program (2009), the University of Mississippi College of Liberal Arts Summer Research Grant (2008, 2005), and the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation Grant (2006).
Young earned a Ph.D. in economics from Emory University and a BA in economics from College of Holy Cross. His research interests include economic growth and development, macroeconomics, and Austrian economics. Young’s teaching interests focus on macro- and microeconomics.
