Area of Expertise:
Ms. Yester has over 25 years of experience in human resources management, executive
education, career planning, program design, consulting and leadership development.
Since 1997, Maria has served as the Director of Executive Education for the WVU
College of Business and Economics.
Prior to her affiliation with the College, she spent 5 years as a Career Planning and Placement Specialist and 14 years in Human Resources where she was responsible for the launch and administration of a training and development program for the 3,500 classified employees of WVU as Director of Training and Development. As Director of Executive Education for the WVU College of Business and Economics, Maria works closely with statewide businesses to design solutions to organizational challenges.
Offerings include both customized programs designed to meet the specific needs of one client and public enrollment courses designed to meet the educational needs of a more diverse audience. In addition to educational programs and work force training, Executive Education provides a full range of business services including facilitation of strategic planning, executive coaching, and business consultation. Clients include Fortune 50 companies as well as small non-profit organizations.
She currently serves on various University and State committees including the WVU Student Recreation Center Board of Advisors, Clay Center Marketing Board and the WVU Extension Services Visiting Committee. She is also an Alumni member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority-Alpha Chapter.
