Area of Expertise:
Dr. Bone specializes in consumer behavior, public policy and marketing ethics.
Her current work focuses on consumers' use of dietary supplements and their
interpretation of claims made on supplement labels. She, along with co-author
Karen Russo France, had the opportunity to present their findings to the United
States Food and Drug Administration in September of 2004. She is also studying
how consumers make trade-offs between short-term pleasures and long-term goals.
This research has implications in two important current issues: retirement
planning and consumer health. Her research has been accepted in Journal of
Consumer Affairs, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing,
MacroMarketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Advertising, Journal of
Business Research, Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Marketing Research,
among others.
