Class of 2015 May Graduation

The College of Business and Economics ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the WVU Coliseum. This ceremony is for students who have completed their degree(s) in August 2014, December 2014 or May 2015. Students intending to complete their degree(s) in August 2015 are also invited to participate in this ceremony. Tickets are not required to attend the ceremony.

Application for Graduation and Diploma
May 2015 Graduating students are required to complete an online Application for Graduation and Diploma, accessible through their MIX account. The deadline to apply for May 2015 Commencement is March 06, 2015. Students who miss the deadline may apply for August 2015 graduation. The Commencement program will include only the names of students who have received their degree(s) in August 2014, December 2014, and who are completing their degree program by May 2015.
Students may confirm receipt of their graduation application by checking their DegreeWorks account at least 24 hours after submission. The date of graduation, May 2015, will be recorded beneath Academic Standing in the Graduation Application box.
Fees and Fines
All account balances must be resolved prior to release of a student’s transcript and diploma.
Students planning to attend the ceremony are required to RSVP. The RSVP form will be available in mid-March.
On the day of the ceremony, students participating must register on the second floor of the Coliseum above the Red Gate beginning at 5:00 p.m. Signs will be posted in the Coliseum regarding procession procedures.
Degree candidates are required to wear full regalia. Students may purchase regalia online from Herff Jones, or in person from the WVU Book Store. The tassel color for the College is drab.
Cords to designate Latin honors will be distributed to students at the Coliseum upon registration.
During the ceremony, students will be recognized individually by degree program. Professional photographs will be taken and names announced as each student walks across the stage. Students will return to their seats and then exit the Coliseum in an orderly fashion during the recessional.
Diplomas will not be distributed at the ceremony, but will be mailed after all graduates are certified by the WVU Office of the Registrar. Students will receive a folder containing a letter informing them of when to expect their diploma.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for graduates and their guests will be held at the Basketball Practice Facility adjacent to the Coliseum. Invitations will be mailed to each students’ permanent address. The RSVP form will be available in mid-March.
