The West Virginia University College of Business and Economics cordially invites you to the December 2014 Graduation Ceremony. West Virginia University will recognize all December 2014 candidates for academic degrees during a formal ceremony at the WVU Coliseum, Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Students participating in the ceremony must wear academic regalia. Regalia may be purchased at the WVU Bookstore.
Application for Graduation and Diploma
Students graduating are required to complete an online Application for Graduation and Diploma. The deadline to submit this application was October 03, 2014 for the December 2014 graduation. If an electronic application was not submitted by the aforementioned deadline you will not be able to submit an application until January 2015 for the May 2015 Commencement.
Fees and Fines
The application for graduation and diplomas fee is no longer assessed by the University. All outstanding accounts to the University must be paid, including library fines and parking tickets. Holds on a student's account can be checked on MIX.
Students planning to attend the December ceremony are required to fill out the registration form on the University website, decemberconvocation.wvu.edu. Information about the ceremony is also available at this website.
Degree candidates are required to wear full regalia. Caps, gowns, tassels and hoods are available at the WVU Book Store. The tassel color for the College is drab.
Cords to designate Latin Honors will be distributed at the luncheon sponsored by the College of Business and Economics. If a student is not attending the luncheon he/she can pick up the cords in the Office of Undergraduate Programs and Advising, BUE, Room 358 on the Thursday before the ceremony.
College Brunch for Undergraduate Students
The College of Business and Economics will host a brunch prior to the ceremony to recognize the undergraduate and graduate degree candidates. The luncheon will be at the Museum Education Center on Patteson Drive, on December 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Jose V. Sartarelli, Milan Puskar Dean of the College of Business and Economics, will offer comments to students and invited guests. Immediately following Dean Sartarelli's comments, students will be recognized during an Alumni Pinning Ceremony. The program will conclude by noon to allow adequate time for travel to the WVU Coliseum for the ceremony.
