Since its inception more than five decades ago, the West Virginia University Master of Science in Industrial Relations (MSIR) program has grown from a relatively small degree program with only a handful of students, to one of the College of Business and Economics’ flagship graduate programs with a national reputation in the fields of human resources and industrial relations. Today, more than 1500 MSIR alumni hold important leadership positions in major organizations around the globe and the MSIR program is stronger than ever.
In October, we will officially celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MSIR program with a very special two day event featuring
social interaction, guest speakers and professional development sessions. This event will serve not only as a reunion for our alumni, but also as an opportunity for both alumni and other HR professionals to network and to continue to grow professionally. I hope that you will plan to attend this celebration weekend where you will have the opportunity to re-connect with colleagues, MSIR faculty, and your former classmates, along with the chance to meet some of our current students. As the new director of the MSIR program, I look forward to meeting and working with each one of you. You can help us to produce the HR professionals and leaders of tomorrow by giving back to the program of your time, expertise and experience today. Let’s work together to make the next 50 years even better! See you in October!
