WVU alum to give free talk
Philip Antoon, Managing Director and the Global Practice Leader of Marsh’s Valuation Services practice, will speak about “Valuation of Intangible Assets” at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 in Room 126 Ming Hsieh Hall.
The talk, which is free and open to the public, is part of the WVU College of Business and Economics Chartered Financial Analyst Seminar Series.
Phil is a Managing Director and the Global Practice Leader of Marsh’s Valuation Services practice, overseeing a full service valuation practice with team members in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Beijing, and Hong Kong. He has twenty years of experience valuing intangible assets, including customer relationships and contracts, trademarks and trade names, licenses, franchises, research and development, proprietary know-how, patented technology, software, non-compete agreements, databases, assembled workforces, order backlog, supply agreements, and others.
Phil also has twenty years of experience in the valuation of common stock, preferred stock, options, warrants, and debt, having performed these valuations for tax, financial reporting, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and litigation support purposes for companies across a variety of industries.
Phil has performed valuations for companies as large as $50 billion, with numerous valuations performed for companies located internationally, including throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, and South and Central America. He has lectured on valuation topics to Financial Executives International, valuation and accounting professionals, and graduate and undergraduate university classes.
Prior to joining Marsh, Phil was a Managing Director with Duff & Phelps and a Director in the New York office of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Value Consulting Practice. He also worked in the valuation groups of both Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. Phil graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in finance.
