Bayer VP to give business college graduation address
Susanna Wayt, vice president, human resources, Americas, for Bayer MaterialScience LLC and 1981 graduate of the WVU College of Business and Economics will be the commencement speaker for May 16 at 6 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
Approximately 400 students receiving B.S. in Business Administration, B.S. in Economics, Master of Professional Accountancy, M.A. in Economics, and PhD. in Economics degrees are expected to participate. A reception for the students and their parents will follow the ceremony at the WVU Shell Building.
A 1981 graduate of the school’s Master of Science in Industrial Relations program, Wayt is Bayer’s head of human resources in the Americas.
Previously, Wayt was director of human resources for Bayer MaterialScience LLC. In this role, she was responsible for human resources support for the polycarbonates and health, safety, environment and quality business units as well as employee relations for all Bayer MaterialScience plant sites.
She joined Bayer in 1989 as supervisor of employment and benefits at the New Martinsville plant. Before joining Bayer, she was an employee relations specialist with West Virginia University and spent several years in retail store management.
Wayt also received a bachelor of science degree in interdepartmental studies from West Virginia University. She lives in Wheeling.
