What are three topics to avoid in any business conversation? Who goes through the door first? At what point should you put your napkin on your lap when dining out?
Those questions and more were answered at a business etiquette seminar offered by the College of Business and Economics on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa. More than 150 students attended.
Topics included wine etiquette, establishing a winning business
wardrobe and business dining etiquette. The event was open to all WVU
students.
International image consultant Susan Lawrence of Class Advantage Inc. was the featured speaker. She discussed professional style, polish and
“The Art of the Meal.” Lawrence has worked with more than 10,000
individuals from business, industry, government and education to gain a
competitive edge through enhanced appearance and behavior. She is a member
of the Association of Image Consultants International.
The seminar included a four course gourmet dinner for a real “hands-on”
experience. Dr. Dave Hauser, who teaches a WVU course on wine, gave tips
on wine selection and the proper way to order wine and receive it.
