Conference to Explore Best Practices, Latest Research

West Virginia University is hosting the 2009 Fraud and Forensic Accounting Education Conference on July 9-11, 2009 in exciting Las Vegas, Nevada

The conference will assist both practitioners and academics in further developing their professional skills, and/or classroom techniques in the specialized field of forensic accounting, financial statement fraud, fraud risk assessment methodology and fraud examination.

The conference program will be a combination of sessions (1) presented by practicing professionals to help attendees further develop knowledge, skills and abilities and (2) sessions presented by participants with regard to best practices, tips, tools and techniques. The material and content for this conference is based on a National Institute of Justice Model Curriculum Project entitled: “Education and Training in Fraud and Forensic Accounting: A Guide for Educational Institutions, Stakeholder Organizations, Faculty and Students.”

The conference is spring-boarding off the success of the Sept. 8, 2006 and May 10-12, 2007 Fraud & Forensic Accounting Education Conferences. Based on feedback, comments and suggestions from participants who attended those conferences, this conference is designed around foundational skills development and best practices in the emerging field of fraud examination and forensic accounting.
