OIP and Financial Aid
WVU's Office of International Programs (OIP)
The OIP is the first place to start for information on what study abroad programs are available to you and what are WVU's policies and procedures that apply for students going abroad. Visit OIP's Study Abroad office in G-15 White Hall on the downtown campus. All students who go abroad are required to attend an OIP meeting before departure, file certain paperwork with OIP before departure, and pay a fee to OIP.
Financial Aid Tips:
WVU Office of International Programs (OIP) has a GEO Grant Scholarship award competition. Those going abroad for a semester are eligible to apply. See the link above for GEO Grants and many other leads on grants, loans, and scholarship assistance available for students going abroad.
If you currently receive a federal Pell grant, be sure to investigate Gilman scholarships.
Visit WVU's Financial Aid Office (2nd floor, Mountainlair) to discuss options to make your study abroad experience happen.
